Carolyn Hansen is a certified educator with twenty years experience in the Montessori method. She earned her A.S. degree from Baker College, graduating Suma Cum Laude. Carolyn completed her Bachelor of Science at Eastern Michigan University.
Carolyn's experience in teaching is extensive. She is a certified Montessori Educator, and founded her own Montessori Academy in Tennessee, in 1990. She not only administered there, but also acted as the head teacher for over 5 years. While running her large Academy, Carolyn also supervised several student-interns, contributed articles regularly to the community newspaper, and managed fund-raising projects and holiday programs for the school. In addition, Carolyn is highly talented at interior design, and created the lay-out for her Academy, and for Miss Carolyn's Montessori pre-school, in Waterford, MI. The physical design for the Montessori Environment is an integral part of the child's learning experience. Carolyn has had several years teaching Montessori Pre-School here in Michigan, and opened Miss Carolyn's Montessori in 2005.
In addition to her teaching experience, Carolyn is renown as a leader in the Montessori Method. She has been a speaker to university groups, conducted parent education seminars, and has acted as a faculty trainer for various child-care organizations.
